The Seven Sisters Fine Art Print

$1,800.00

My newest work, “The Seven Sisters,” was recently commissioned by the Montauk Library in New York. After receiving numerous inquiries about the artwork, I am happy to announce the printing of a limited edition of 36 signed and numbered archival fine art prints of “The Seven Sisters.” The prints are 18” x 18” with a 1 inch white border.

The Seven sisters is a textile art work by textile and mixed media artist, Susan Schrott. The piece was unveiled in May 2022 at the Montauk Library. The Seven Sisters has been made possible with funds from the Statewide Community Regrants Program. With reference to the constellation pleads, The Seven Sisters depicts seven women surrounded by elements that form the unique beauty of Montauk: the sea, the sky, and its abundant native flora and fauna. It also incorporates images of seven cottages along a bluff overlooking the ocean. Known colloquially as “The Seven Sisters,” these Montauk Association Historic District residences were designed and built in 1881-1884 by the legendary architectural firm of McKim, Mead, and White, according to a site plan prepared by landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted (1822-1903) whose bicentennial is being celebrated around the world this year.
