Mama and Child

Last night on superbowl Sunday I thought I would be a good American and try to watch the gamel with my husband. After eating too many chips and guacamole, and watching men run into each other I had it. I went back to my studio and finished working on a smaller version of my new piece. This piece is called Mama and Child. It is made up of my hand dyed fabrics, hand dyed and stamped fabrics, figures drawn with fabric ink which I then stamped over. The work is pieced,  straight stitched and free motion quilted. I wanted to do a smaller piece to figure out a way to alter the fabrics that I drew the women on. I am very happy with the results and welcome feedback. You can click on the images for a really good view!

I love this new direction your taking with your fabrics. You know I think your hand-dyes are luscious, but I also really like these new fabrics with stamps, etc; they have real depth. I’m excited to see where you go with this.
