I decided today to move from paper to fabric. This is one of the original drawings I did earlier this month using permanent ink.
I spent a few hours this afternoon recreating the image I originally drew on paper, onto fabric. I ironed freezer paper to the back of the piece to stabilize it so I could draw on it. I am very excited about this new departure for me. What I am wondering about is what direction the quilting will ultimately take. These woman are so exciting to me and represent my absolute joy in creating them. I don’t hold back on anything and allow my hands to express what comes from my heart and my unconscious mind. Here is the fabric version, above is the drawing I did on paper. In this version below, I am using permanent ink, fabric markers and prisma colored pencils.
